Land Restoration Activities Notification

Our land management “strike team” is actively working within a roughly 200-acre unit at Brown County State Park, implementing forest stand improvement practices and creating strategic canopy gaps to enhance breeding habitat for the Cerulean Warbler. This work will continue until spring migration, at which point efforts will shift from structural forest management to monitoring and maintenance. During this phase, the team will evaluate wildlife use of treated areas—including Cerulean Warblers, other bird species, mammals, and herpetofauna—while also assessing vegetative response, with particular attention to invasive species detection and treatment.
